2017 Snowflake Challenge - Day Six
You'd think I'd have done this by now, since I was the one who posted it to Snowflake. But today has been BUSY getting ready for my sons' first sleepover party, and now that they're safely busy playing games and eating me out of house and home, I have time to think. And post.
Day 06
In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.
Well, my biggest wish has been granted, and I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who stepped up to make sure that Snowflake is happening this year. It makes my heart happy.
1. A very specific vid. Vidding is not a Thing I Do, but I love them. And when I was creating an art piece a few years back (Red Right Hand), I used a song title and summary for it, and it just clicked, how perfect the song would be for the fandom. So if anyone who vids knows the series Harper's Island, check out the Nick Cave song and see if it isn't the perfect fit.
Or hey, if you don't know the show but like horror, and implausible (but terrifically entertaining) plots, this show is for you! Check it out :)
2. Another vid request (because why not think big?) Hamilton/Doctor Who. I'd LOVE to see "You'll be Back" with either Ten and the Master, or it could span over all the Doctors/Masters. Wouldn't that be amazing?
3. Icons. In truth, I'd love to make some, but time is not my friend. And I use them very specifically - sometimes choosing one to fit the post takes forever. So here's a couple that would amuse me greatly:
Monty Python (Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Fish slapping!) Can you picture an animated gif of the fish slapping dance? or a written list of what Nobody Expects, interspersed with the lads of MP?
Oh! And Eddie Izzard! I have a couple of text icons that are quotes of his, but what I would love beyond all reason is an animated icon of his yes/no bit (It was in Dressed to Kill). He's talking about Englebert Humperdink, then says he's been killed, then does this long bit where he shakes his head, then nods, so the audience can never tell if he meant what he said or not. Love. It.
Also, Clint/Coulson icons would be lovely, as would a really nice Captain Cold icon.
4. And last but not least - how about vid recs? Because I love them, but don't watch a lot, in part because I don't know how best to find them, other than trudging through YouTube (not appealing most days).
Soooo... fandoms I'd love to see vids for include:
due South (F/K, F/K/V, gen, either Ray and Stella, dead!Bob, Dief... basically any character unpaired I guess)
SPN - No Wincest please, but otherwise just about anything goes - funny, serious, you name it
Avengers/Marvel movie 'verse - could be character-specific or not. My faves in order are Coulson, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, but I love them all, separately or as a team
Doctor Who - pretty much any Doctor - I've been a fan since Four
Flash/Legends of Tomorrow - I've got a HUGE crush on Captain Cold. HUGE. So yeah, vids with him, please. If they get slashy, him with Flash or Heatwave, but no slash required.
