This is a variation on the 'post the first line you wrote at the beginning of each month' meme. Gacked from everywhere.
January:
Happy New Year everyone! My favorite part about this post is my list of New Year's resolutions, especially number one: 1. This is the big one: Finish the Ron/Draco fic I started last September. Because not only did I not finish this fic, I probably spent a grand total of two days working on it. *sigh* One of these days.
February: The warmest of birthday wishes to
fourth_rose and
shikishi, two of my favorite people in fandom. Cheers! (2/2)
Also, on the same day I opine that
Tracey Ullman really needs to be cast in a Harry Potter film because she's generally awesome, except I still have no idea what part she'd play.
March: I hate, hate cheesy pop songs. Power ballads make me want to harm small, fluffy animals. Melisma... just don’t. But every year at this time I’m sucked into the cheesetastic express that is American Idol.
Hahahaha. Yes, it's true.
April:
Malfoys don’t grieve. The first line of the first chapter of my WIP that's still a WIP: Sort of a Homecoming. I managed to publish three chapters before getting hopelessly stuck on chapter 4 and now it's so post-HBP non-compliant it hurts, but, yes, I do plan on finishing it and have about 10,000 words of rough copy written for the last two chapters and epilogue.
May:
It was raining sideways. The first line of my Harry/Draco/Ron fic: Walk On.
June:
fourth_rose wrote me the loveliest drabble:
Closure.
It is lovely, go read:D
In another post, I
ranted about lameness that is Neil Steinburg of the Chicago Sun-Times, speaking of which, wrote painfully unfunny column today about gay subtext in film Westerns. Honestly, your average LJer is wittier than this guy.
July:
Gone Fishin.' Literally.Wherein I rant about having to spend the holiday weekend with my in-laws.
August: Wow! I can't believe it's August already. Summer, she is flying by.
September: I start the day on an absurd note by posting a
drabble about Harry and Draco getting sex tips from gorillas. And then finish the day by posting a sharply worded missive to the President on his handling of the Katrina disaster.
Mr. President, After watching footage of the humanitarian disaster unfolding in New Orleans and the gulf coast, I am simply appalled. I feel like I’m looking at footage from a third world country, not the United States of America. Good God. October:
To be honest, I really don't like Mpreg and I rarely read it.
November: I had
a heavy case of the blahs and I mention a Halloween fic that I had given up on. It's a Ron/Draco/Harry vampire fic, btw, that skittered half-way between crack and darkfic, which is probably all you really need to know as to why I never finished it.
December: I got my first fandom holiday card today. Thank you
monifieth! I also posted my Livejournal
mindmap.
