Odd and ends
1. I finally finished my last fic writing obligation over the weekend *dances* I sign up for all these challenges because I think they'll be fun and I end up pulling my hair out instead. Then who turned around and wrote 300 words for her hp_springsmut assignment? Yay me!
2. Holiday cardses! Thank you _lady_narcissa_ -- the pimp canes are adorable-- and tesseract_5! Of course, the spouse got the mail and had to comment about the Harry/Ron sticker that was on the envelope.
3. According to today's Chicago Sun-Times, it's okay If you're not that into Christmas. Whew! *wipes brow* Actually, I was feeling rather Scrooge-like for not feeling the Christmas cheer this year.
4. painless_j has decried this week Fic Back-up Week. This totally reminds me that I have been extremely lazy about archiving my fics. I just realized that The Hex Files has a drabble category (Harry/Draco only), which means my hd100 drabbles finally have a home.
5. Links! rykoblue has a hilarious essay on Snape: the good, the bad, and the snivellus If you're like me and prefer Snape to be the anti-social loner that he's depicted as in the books, this is the essay for you.
I'm so, so far behind reading merry_smutmas fics, but this is easily my favorite thus far.
Finding If We Only See.... (Harry/Neville). I rarely read this pairing, but one paragraph into it I already knew I was going to like this fic. Set during HBP, this really functions more as a character study of Neville, who I think was unjustly ignored by JRK in that book than as a romance. It's beautifully written and quietly moving, just like the boy himself.
6. It's 4 degrees here and the spouse took the car, which means I have to make the mile trek to the post office on foot to mail the rest of my holiday cards. I also have dry cleaning to drop off and more xmas shopping to do. This was not the day to plan on doing it. *whines*
