Sunrise
Sunrise from 彼's ship in South Africa. They've travelled down from Ghana to South Africa, crossing one time zone, thus making them one hour less behind Singapore.
It's a beautiful view, and probably what all sailors look forward to.
From South Africa, though uncomfirmed yet, it seems the plan is to stock up and prepare to sail across the Indian Ocean to Malaysia which will take about 25 to 30 days.. ;x That's a long journey....
My Little Prince
It is around this time of last year when I flew home from Tokyo to see my little prince for the last time in my life. 1 year seems to have passed so quickly, yet I still miss him so much. His smell, his soft paws, his silky soft fur. It was heartpaining to sick him old, sick and weak. And even worse to know that when I say goodbye to him at the end of the 4 days trip that was just for him, it would be our last farewell...
The only thing that held me through was knowing that once he passed on he will no longer be in pain, and be at the rainbow bridge with his doggy friends, Variel, Candy, Spencer, patiently waiting for the day we will meet again.
I still miss you so much. It is a hole that our new little princess cannot fill. There are so many things she is similar to you, and so many she is different. But I will love both of you all the same, and look forward to the day when we can all meet and play together.
Little Devil Princess
睡着小天使,醒着小恶魔~
Our little Yuki has blossomed completely over the last 1 week... from a shy quiet little angel, she's turned into a onfident, playful, naughty little devil
Playing with her toys~ that dog from ufo is now hers... will that be the eventual fate of the rest of my ufo toys..
睡到翻白眼... She looks so innocent when sleeping... she likes sleeping in my room and my zabuton cushion alot but i refuse to give it to her ;x But I've gotten her to move to my parents' room from Thursday, after sacrificing another 2 cushions to her. It is better for her to be closer to them since I will eventually move out with 彼 next year after we get our own place.
Her first bath and blowdry today. Her seller took pretty good care of her I think. She wasn't resistant about bathing, just lied there and let me shampoo, conditioner her fur. She was less enthusastic about blowdrying and curled up into a tight ball lol
But now she's a sweet-smelling perfect bundle of joy sleeping beside me KOed from the exhaustion of a bath.
We're still trying to pee-pad train her, but it is tough because I'm working on weekdays and my parents don't seem to take it seriously as we eventually will want her to pee outdoors once she is done with all her vaccination. But that is like 5 weeks away...
She now knows the command Sit and Come and recognizes her name Yuki. But we're still having trouble with "No", and trying to stop her from nipping our hands and feet when she gets too excited...
日本攻略
I've visited 41 of the 47 prefectures in Japan! The remaining are kinda scattered I'm not sure I can cover them any time soon ;x. Anyone interested can make your own map
here. Available in Japanese and Chinese.
Food
Tom Yam
Yong Tau Fu. Yong Tau Fu is a Hakka Chinese cuisine consisting primarily of tofu filled with ground meat mixture or fish paste. Variation of this food include vegetables and mushrooms stuffed with ground meat or surimi. Yong tau foo is eaten in numerous ways, either dry with a sauce or served as a soup dish. (From Wiki). Here I've chosen to eat it with Tom Yam soup and Bee Hoon.
Hakka Lei Cha (Thunder-tea Rice) from
Nature. I really hated this as a kid whenever my mom made it because 1) it is all vegetables 2) I didn't like the herbs in green soup/tea which included mint which I hated. But these days I miss and love it so much for all its healthy goodness and because shops and my mom now make it with less mint so it doesn't annoy me that much. The vegetable and rice comes in a separate bowl from the soup, so we can choose to put in the amount of soup we prefer.
Nasi Lemak!! I haven't eaten this since I came back from from Japan and it tasted soooo good. The fragrant coconut rice, spicy chilli sauce, Acar (Malay picked vegetables)... Had curry chicken to go with it because I totally missed Peranakan style curry chicken too~
