Karuizawa Snow Park!
Had the first ride of the season yesterday! Me, KK, SM, B, J and Tomoya. B and J were new but keen to try. Tomoya and I were the experienced while KK and SM had skied/sbed a few times.
It's a long ride to the ski resort (damn I miss living in Sapporo where Kiroro/Kokusai can be reached within 2 hours). We woke up before 5am to catch a train to catch the tour bus from Shinjuku at 7am, and only reached Karuizawa Snow Park at 10.30am. That's more travel time than our 6 hours on the slopes actually ;x
Rest stop in Gunma.
Amazed by the toilets which actually shows which cubicles are available.
It's a sunny day on the botak looking slopes. The ski resort opened for the day and almost all the snow are man-made.
I brought my own board but everyone else rented theirs.
The beginner slope where we started B and J on their first ride~
Only 1 lift was opened which led to 2 courses. Both were beginner courses and pretty short, but it just felt awesome to be snowboarding!
Taking the chairlift up. We can see the upper part of the slope still being prepared.
Loving my board. I adjusted the angle for this ride, and I'm just loving the fact I can adjust it to suit my preferences.
View from the top of the chairlift.
Mini-curry for lunch~
More runs in the afternoon.
I'm so wishing I can back on the slopes next week, but YW is visiting Japan and I'll be meeting up with her for the weekend. But now we're planning a 2D1N trip for 23rd/24th. The following weekend I will be back in Singapore, but after I get back, for 6-8th Jan we wil go for a 3D2N trip and potentially snowboard trips every weekend XD
I already miss the snow >_<
We had to stop around 4pm to catch our 4.30pm bus back to Tokyo. I was starving so when the bus stopped over at a rest station, bought this really awesome grilled baby octopus!~
After that we had dinner at Saizeriya. Risotto and Onion soup and shared escargo (all soupy because I don't drink enough water on the slopes, thus need to make up for it)
Food
I woke up aching all over because of the snowboarding yesterday, but it wasn't very bad since I felt I didn't really snowboard alot the day before lol. It also felt good to be aching.. like it's the proof of being alive!
Lunch was sweet potato! I thought of buying steak for lunch, but once I stepped into the supermarket, the sweet fragrance of roasted sweet potato was just sooooo....
Dinner was pasta
Lunches from last few days in office~
Lunch and my salad dinner. I usually make like 3-4 days worth of salad and store them in the fridge so I can just take them out to eat for the next few nights XD
