So, this is a first (as far as I know of)
I've been contacted by the lovely people at stop_plagiarism to let me know that one of my fic (a porny ficlet from three years ago) has been plagiarized. I reported the story on ff.net and left a review asking the "author" to take it down.
I never understood people who do things like this. I just really don't see the point. But see, this "author" didn't just steal my work and changed the names and a few dialog lines to make it apply to another fandom. No. It wasn't a one-off thing. As I write these words, 129 of their stories have been identified as belonging to someone else. 129 STORIES, GUYS! FROM OVER 70 AUTHORS! This person has been doing this for a whole year, and is only being caught now. My mind, it is blown.
What is the point? Can someone please explain it to me, because I really don't understand. Is it to make people like "their" stuff, in the hope that they'll also read their actual fics? Well then a) it's not really working, this person almost never has over 10 reviews on anything, b) why have at least over 80% of "your" fics not being yours, c) why throw a hissy fit at people subscribing to finish stories? It makes your statistics higher, so be happy!
No really, this is what they post at the begining of completed fics:

So it is with great annoyance/sadness that I've come to a decision. I'm retiring from the writing fics business.
After people not taking my warnings seriously. After ignoring my pleas to not click the Story Alert button. I'VE HAD IT! I'M DONE! FINISHED!
Oh and for those of you who are interested. I'll gladly point out the names of the culprits for making me quit FanFiction.
