JIB Con 4 "Report"
Hey guys! I came home a couple of days ago, but I have so much things to catch up on between uni, tv shows and YouTube, I've been busy! Managed to catch the SPN finale though and really enjoyed it. :)
So, Jus In Bello Con. I went with my sister, who's been a Jensen fan since Dark Angel but has never been in fandom, and there was some of the expect awkwardness in the way she looked at the few cosplayers and commented on a girl's anti-possession tattoo, but it mostly went well and she hit it off well enough with my fandom friends. :) I met up with enchantersnight, littlehollyleaf and katie_f_thomas, like last year, though I barely see Katie. We spent a lot of time with one of Holly's Tumblr friends also, and saw other people we'd met last year, like gwaevalarin.
I had a lot of fun at the con, because the guests are always nice and funny, but I felt a little bit...uninvolved? I've reverted to a "casual" watcher of this show, which is fine, but sometimes I'd hear people talking about specific episodes and I'd barely remember what happens in it. I'm definitely out of the fandom, even though I've enjoyed this season more than the previous one.
About the con itself, there are probably a gazillion of actual reports around, and I just don't feel like going into a detailed account of every pannel I saw. Overall, Sebastian was even more insane than I remembered, Matt was surprisingly sweet and interesting, Richard and Rob kept impersonating each other, and Ty crashed almost every pannel, once bringing the Hunter Pass people in with him (Hunter Passes are the cheapest JIB passes and don't grant access to the pannel room). Ty is adorable and hilarious and I may have caved and gotten a photo op with him. I blame his stupid eyes.
Jared wasn't there due to a family emergency. I wonder if we got any more details about it? Jensen was his usual self, and the questions were apparently screened carefully to avoid another NJ Con situation.
After the con, enchantersnight, my sister and me stayed in Rome until Wednesday evening, but that's a whole other story. I might post about it along with a few photos once I've actually sorted them. :)
However, I think this was definitely my last Supernatural con, since I'm so out of the fandom. But I'm really looking forward to Wolf's Bane con in London this summer, and not only because of the awesome friends I'm meeting up with! :)
