first day at pugh's

this is for crystal =P i didn't plan on updating about it 'cause i'm lazy butttt since she asked for it...

i got there on time, got my shirts, decided i do not look good in navy, accepted it.

jan showed me how to clean all of the cages and it was so hard not to laugh every time she said "poopy"/"poopies." seriously. i wanted to die from laughter.

so cleaning behind the bird cages...there was a dead mouse stuck in a crack where the wall meets the floor. it was pretty foul. tried to sweep it out but it wouldn't budge so i had to pull it out with my fingers. the smell was pretty much the worst thing ever. there was black slime leftover on the floor from it. gag.

i felt awful getting pinkies and mice for people but accepted it and kept telling myself that not every animal can survive on pellets and vegetables. they have to eat, too. getting the crickets wasn't bad, i didn't feel too bad for them.

lots of sweeping because i'm obsessed with sweeping and cleaning. putting price tags on bird cage covers - that was fun.

the register makes me want to die because we have to calculate how much change a person gets back in our heads. w-t-f. i hate my life and math. but i will get used to it. i also keep screwing up with the buttons and it makes an awful beeping sound.

i spent, like, an hour opening boxes full of aquarium decorations. three huge boxes full of 10+ more smaller boxes inside. each box had awful styrofoam packing which was a biittchhh to get out.

so overall, i really like this job. there is lots to do and i like that. i love keeping busy.

schedule so far:

10am-4pm wednesday
10am-4pm thursday
10am-4pm saturday
10am-4pm monday

= 180 dollars before taxes...woo!

also: i want some hermit crabs.

crabs, pugh's, dead mouse, styrofoam, work, money
