Today I was re-reading the Young Avengers issues - and my love for that series grows every time I read it: I keep finding little details that I didn't notice in the previous readings, but that are able to give to the story and its characters new nuances that make everything deeper and more interesting

I LOVE you for having bought me that book for Billy!Day Xmas! ♥
...*cough*
BILLY.
The thing I like the most about these notes it that they are brief but *insightful*. We get a sketch of Billy's personality in just five words: neurotic, Jewish, cerebral, ironic, charming. Which are all traits one can pick up from reading the comic but sometimes are too subtle to be seen at the first read. I love that Heindberg has written down that Billy "has no idea whatsoever how attractive he is", because it falls in line with what is revealed in YA Presents, and because that's actually what I like the most about him. You never get to see a cocky Wiccan although the nature of his powers could easily bring him to be an arrogant asshole.
I also find interesting the fact that here H. says Billy was adopted by the Kaplans - though the status of this in canon remains uncertain, it's nice knowing how he'dlike it to be played. Maked me hope even more for Wanda's return.
Billy's not as articulate about his own feelings - the true source of his powers. This is intriguing - because it connects him even more to Wanda. And at the same time there's no reference to the fact that he has to hear himself chanting to cast a spell. Did he change his mind after writing this down, Marvel retconned this afterwards, or they left space for his powers to develop even more? Either way, that boy potential scares me to death.
TOMMY.
This revelation will then lead to the discovery of THOMAS, Billy's equally powerful, but morally ambiguous twin brother.
...Did he think of him as a magician at the beginning? It's left unclear O.o
Usually they write Thomas as one. I found him being a speedster more innovative. And thank God Marvel went for the Scalet Witch's sons storyline **;
TEDDY.
1) ...Billy, you are SO gay.
2) Teddy being shaped to be Billy's ideal love interest makes me incredibly happy.
3) ...Lindsey Lohan. *giggle*
I think I would have liked Teddy as a girl, but somehow I don't think it would have worked out as well as Teddy as a boy.
Teddy's relationship with Greg is one of my favourite parts in the YA canon, and it simply wouldn't have taken place with him as a girl. She wouldn't have gone along Greg plans the way our Teddy did - and I fear everything would have taken more sexual undertones. The fact that Skrulls don't have neither male or female sexuality is really interesting, though. I hope they'll find more ways to explore this - maybe using Xavin from the Runaways? S/he'd be easier to deal with.
Also... I'm happy they introduced Teddy's mother in the end. They probably created her not to have two orphans (Teddy and Tommy) in the same group, but she was a useful to fill in some blanks that could have become plotholes.
Billy will have to examine the true nature of love.
What I like the most about them as a couple is that they simply don't care about each other physical appearance (especially Billy). I'm really glad H. left this unchanged ♥
And I can't help imagining Billy going all "EWWW BOOBS... but Teddy i's so likeable... but boobs are... EWWW. ç_ç"
His sexual identity crisis would have been a 'BUT I'M GAY, I NEVER LIKED BOOBS' one. *facepalm*
Oh, Billy, you're so gay.... ♥

XDDDDDDDDDD
BILLY: the use of those 5 adjectives to describe him, made me decide to wrote everything down. XD
I'm hoping so badly to see in an actual comics a direct reference to the love-is-the-source-of-his-powers issue.
TEDDY: Billy would have been gay even with a female!Teddy... *giggle*
"Boobs? I don't see any. *denial*"

Yup. They never got to clarify the true nature of Wanda's powers either - and when they did they kept retconning everything. chaos magic, indeed XD;
it'd be nice if they sticked to this version :/
