Multipup Post - Percy Jackson, Harry Potter - Barways

Annabeth never thought she would find the bar again.

But here she is.

And without the Labyrinth's help too. (Like the last time.)

She has a sleek silver laptop with her, and she's feeling pretty good about this summer.

Part of it may be because of a boy. Part of it is very likely because she has the best job in the world.

"Bravo, bravo!" comes a delighted call from behind Albus.

The voice belongs to a man with a ridiculously huge messenger bag on his back. He's clapping.

"What a trick!"

Albus tilts his head slightly towards the man. As a result, his lack of concentration makes the cup sink lower.

Feeling a little embarrassed (he isn't one for being in the spotlight), he lets the cup land properly.

"Um. Thank you."

"How'd you do it? Oh! Wait! Don't tell me! A good magician never reveals his secrets, after all!"

Grimmer is nothing if not easily entertained.

He shrugs, shrinking a little. The man's exuberance is a bit overwhelming.

"It's just magic," he explains - and it's really the only answer he can come up with. But he adds, "I'm a wizard."

"Brilliant! Always keep'em guessing."

Yes, Grimmer has that effect on people from time to time. At least in his usual settings the German accent isn't so out of place.

He may or may not understand what Albus actually means by 'wizard'.

Albus gives him a sort of 'Bzuh?' look, complete with head-cocking.

"Guessing?"

"You gave the perfect answer! 'It's magic.' People will never figure out your methods!"

And so, the confusion continues.

"Er. I just cast a spell, and the magic sort of ... um. Does its' thing. I suppose it's in my blood?"

He has no idea whether he makes any sense, really. He's never had to think about the science behind his magical abilities.

Grimmer 'tsk's. "Don't try and explain it, you'll ruin the fun. Nobody wants to know everything, right?"

"Um."

He would argue with that! And while he doesn't say anything, his expression kind of shows this.

"I ... I dunno."
