Max hasn't been keeping track of the days here, so when he walks downstairs for coffee and ends up as the Mayor of Whoville, it takes him a moment to realize why.

When he does realize why, he starts laughing.

"Well, it's about time!"

Bar gives him a cupcake with his coffee, complete with lit now unlit candle and all.

"... I wished I could keep

"You look strange." Fry comments, appearing beside him.

He is mostly unchanged, apart from having a toy octopus sitting on his shoulder.

"Not as strange as I could look."

Beat.

"I think I look good. Don't you like my hat?"

"It's all right. Very bright."

[bythatmuch]

"Very bright or too bright?"

[mm_wedic]

"Depends what too bright is."

[bythatmuch]

"I think too bright would be... highlighter neon yellow."

[mm_wedic]

"Unless you're a cyclist."

Fry shrugs.

"I don't mind colours so long as they're not red. But I don't really understand what people mean when they say colours 'go'."

[bythatmuch]

"It means they match! Like this outfit."

He points out the matching colors.

"But why does orange and yellow go but orange and red doesn't?"

[bythatmuch]

"Orange and yellow just looks more pleasing to the eye, I guess?"

[mm_wedic]

"Why? They're both combinations of a secondary and its adjacent primary colour."

[bythatmuch]

... um.

"Um."

Max shrugs.

"I... don't know?"

Fry thinks for a moment.

"But how does everyone know the rules then?"

[bythatmuch]

"It's not really rules, it's... fashion trends?"

Or something.

Max has always considered himself very fashionable, but he's never actually stopped to think about the technicalities of fashion.

"Oh."

Beat.

"So in a few years it will be okay to wear red and orange if people want to?"

"Maybe! Probably. I wouldn't be surprised."
