A lavender-gloved hand dips into the bag of marshmallows, daintily snatching three white pillows of sugar.

"Good evening," the thief greets, with a slight smirk, before popping all three into his mouth.

Leaning his head back, Brenton smiles a little at the thief. "Good evening."

Frederick's voice is muffled by the marshmallows, but hopefully something comes out that approximates, "You're not going to finish those, are you?"

"I was hoping to. But you can have some if you wish."

Fredrick reminds him of a peacock somewhat. The stealing and the bright colors.

Frederick holds his hand in front of his mouth while he swallows. He then smiles sweetly and says, "Why, thank you!" He pulls one of the easy chairs over (with what seems like very little effort) and lounges on the armrest.

"Pardon me for asking, but you wouldn't happen to be a magician, would you?" Frederick asks, throwing a marshmallow into the air and leaning back to catch it in his mouth.

He laughs. "No. I'm not a magician."

He takes another marshmallow and chews it in a horribly mundane and boring fashion.

"Mm." Frederick studies him while he chews on another marshmallow, considering how to pose his question.

"I must say I'm a bit intrigued by the rather direct method you're employing to warm your feet," he says slowly, with an amused smirk.

"It's a pretty good way, isn't it?" he says being deliberately unhelpful. "Nice and direct."

He could just outright ask.

Well, yes, but that's just no fun. Meanwhile, being dodged is fun, or at least Frederick finds it so, as evidenced by his wide grin and the distinct sparkle in his eyes.

"I'm sure it gets the job done quickly," he agrees. "But one might wonder how you're managing to avoid getting burned."

"I'm fire proof. Obviously." Still not completely helpful.

And no, it's not as much fun if you ask directly. He eats another marshmallow.

"Yes, I can see that," Frederick giggles. "Forgive me, but that's a bit of a rarity in my world. Is it normal in yours?"

He throws three marshmallows up in rapid succession, catching them in his mouth one by one. (Did their trajectories change slightly on the way down? Of course not; you must be seeing things. That would be cheating.)

Of course they didn't. Much like Brenton's feet aren't in the fire.

"No. It's not. There are some people who can do it. Fire folks. But no one like me."

Which is true.

"Like you?" is Frederick's simple question.

"Yes. There's no one like me." Simple answer.

"Well, that, unfortunately, can be said of a lot of people. Including myself, perhaps."

He's getting close to asking directly, but he can play a bit longer, can't he?

"Oh yes. That's true, but it's explicitly true in regards to me. There isn't anyone else like me."

Of course he can! Brenton will keep this up as long as is wanted.
