Call it stockholm syndrome in a sense, because the moment Thirteen spots Kai, a very Housian snark nearly makes it past her lips before she manages to snap her mouth close.

Instead, and perhaps as a bit of an apology, the woman nods at him, raising her glass in greeting.

Kai raised his glass and nodded curtly in return.

She offers a bit of a smile.

"Bar pull you in at a bad time?"

"Yes," said Kai, "I was going back to bed. Yourself?"

He sipped at his coke.

Frederick noticed Kai when he first came in, but he didn't say anything-- simply watched him until he disappeared up the stairs.

Now that he's returned and is sitting at a table, Frederick feels that perhaps it's rude to continue staring without greeting the person he's looking at.

So, from his seat at the bar, he starts with a simple, "Why, hello there."

"Hello?" said Kai looking rather confused.

Frederick crosses his legs, daintily stirring what appears to be an electric purple cocktail of some sort.

"I've never seen you here before," he notes casually. "But you seem familiar enough with the facilities, so I have to assume you frequent the establishment."

He's perfectly aware that he's giving a lot away here. "Forgive me for staring," he adds, with an innocent, slightly apologetic look.

"I have been here a few times," said Kai, "And people seem to stare a lot."

Kai sipped his coke.
