Kai woke up and opened his eyes. Next to him lay Nia, the love of his life. Her long dark hair framed her face and spilled on the pillow next to his. He studied her face for a moment. He wasn’t sure if he should get up to get some water, he didn’t want to disturb her, but thirst was something to take care of. He sat up slowly and swung his legs over the side of the bed and placed his feet on the floor. It was cool but not cold, living under ground was good for a steady temperature. He found his pants and pulled them on. Living in the same house as his parents and toddler sister did not make for running around the house naked, or even in his underwear. He opened the door and headed down the hall to the kitchen, where he found a cup and filled it with water. He then padded back down the hall to his room with his water. On opening the door he found the bar. Well, that was interesting, unexpected, and annoying. Here he was wearing nothing but his pants and his hair all messed up.
“Yeah, real funny,” he mumbled as he made his way to the Bar for a shirt and a key for a room so he could shower.
Later on he emerged from the room, deposited the key and found himself a table at which to sip a glass of Coca Cola with ice. The shirt bar gave him was tie dyed, and very brightly colored. At least they went with the pants. His hair was clean, brushed, and in a plait down his back.
