Ian is a big LARP fan (Live Action Roll-Play). Twice a month, on Sunday, he goes out to the park with about 20 other kids and they run around and pretend they are adventurers (Like LOTR or D&D). They do this almost all year. The one today was out in the freezing drizzle (43ºF) in the park in Palo Alto. He did this for 7 hours. I mostly stayed in the car and slept.
Now, I realize that for most of you, 43º is not terribly cold for January, but it is for here. It is the first time I've worn my heavier coat, plus my earmuffs, scarf, and gloves, and still been cold. I am very glad for my heated mattress pad, and for my cat at my feet tonight. Still feeling awfully bleh, but then realized I hadn't taken my meds for a couple days. These get-up-and-be-out-the-door-in-10-minutes mornings do not bode well for me remembering to do much of anything, to be honest. At least I remembered my allergy pill for tonight.
