Chapter 12 The Final
I woke up, sore, hurting & trouble breathing. It's times like these I question my life's choices. Ueda & Maru walked in.
'Kame you look terrible.' Ueda remarked.
I smirked, I was too tired for a comeback. Ueda seemed satisfied.
'Well it's over Kame,' Maru replied. 'The story is out. The police reopened the case & tend to close the case properly.
'Good. Glad to hear that.' I answered. It was all I could say. The case was solved & felt a huge crash coming on. The gunshot wound might have played a part. Yuko walked in. She grabbed my hand.
'Thank you so much!!' she said.
'Don't forget to thank them too.' I replied pointing at Maru & Ueda. Yuko got up & hugged Ueda. Ueda turned a bit red. Maru turned to her and said
'Lets go home' Maru escorted her out.' Ja Kame, I'll check on you later.'
Once they left it was just Ueda & me.
'Now you going to rest?' he asked.
' Do I really have a choice?'i answered. He smirked.
' Take care of yourself. I have to go clean up my work place. It worked but man I hate Maru's ideas sometimes.'
'Ay least you got out without a scratch.' I added. Ueda turned.
' I have a black eye thanks to it all. I don't know why Kame I always get involved.'
'You can't help it.' I said with a chuckle which was a bad idea. I winced at the pain.
Ueda smiled' see ya around Kame.'
'Likewise' I replied & he walked away. It was a little lonelier. The case was closed. Aiko & her little one can rest in peace. Maru & Yuko were safe. Everything was alright, except I couldn't look out the window because it hurt too much.
