Chapter 2
She collected herself.
'Kamenashi sama,' she started dabbing her eyes,'do you think you could look into this matter for me.'
'You haven't told me what you want.' I reminded her. She looked at me, her beautiful brown eyes were so sad.
Unfortunately, being a detective can harden your heart a bit & I have seen many tears, real & fake. However, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt
'my friend is the person who was murdered & the police dismissed it.' she explained bitterly.
'ok,what can you tell me about that day? As best you can.' I asked.
' She told me,she had a surprise, but I would have to wait until the 12th.'
I nodded. She continued.
' image how devastated I was when I heard she had died! After the police left, I managed to take pictures of the crime scene. I showed them to Maru kun.'
'i see' I replied. She pulled her phone out. I'll send them to you, what's your number?.'
'Send it to this' I slid a piece of paper with my email.
' it's more secure' I added. Poor girl, she was shaking as she presued the task at hand.
'Kamenashi sama, can you look into the matter for me?'
'it depends..' she cut me off.
'I'll pay. I've got your fee right here. Please.'
I weighed my options. This unfinished case was almost like a challenge.
'I'll do it.' I answered. She gave me a hug & started to sob
' Thank you' she said in between sobs. I held her for a bit. I glanced at Maru. He seemed relieved. This case meant a lot to the both of them,so I had to help out a friend.
'Ah,Kame I'll catch ya later.' Maru said helping Yuko out.
'Sure, be safe' I remarked as they left. Once my office was empty I grabbed my laptop & headed out the door. Walking to my car I caught a glimpse of Maru helping Yuko get in her car. Then he got into his.what I didn't like was a blue Datsun I spied hanging out by my office. I couldn't really see the driver but I could see that the head was turned toward Maru & Yuko, watching them drive off. I waited until the Datsun drive off in the opposite direction. Walking to the car park, I had almost reached my car when I looked up & saw headlights coming at me. I tried to jump out of the way but made contact & it went black.
