Some enchanted evening...

Last night was a whirlwind of interesting experiences. For one thing, I have never been the person who's holding someone else's hair while they puke in the street and who makes sure someone gets enough water and bread and half a banana when we get home. I am always the puker, and it was kind of fun to not be for once. We went out with Iñaki (the Man) and one of his friends, Mancho, who reminded me so much of Pete that I thought I was home again. I really, really liked him and we talked about a lot of things but mostly I just think he is sincerely interested in other people, in learning new things, and in exploring the trails around Pamplona (he got really excited when I told him about the book I bought and maybe we'll plan a bike ride together). My intuition told me this was a good guy, so I in turn had a lot of fun and since I didn't get totally wasted I had a chance to get to know him. So, good times all around, but as I said Darby threw up all over Pamplona and in this picture she had just let loose for the first time, behind a building right next to a bus station and I am kind of holding her up. It was great, let me tell you.

As soon as we got home Darby and I stayed up talking about everything under the sun, ate some Nutella, and finally dragged ourselves to bed at about 7am. Apparently that's just how it's done around here. We didn't get home until almost 6 and that's actually early. So... I woke up this morning with a bit of a grogginess but nothing more, and we spent the day (well, what was left of it) watching Fried Green Tomatoes (Jessica Tandy!) and eating lots of crap like sugary popcorn and delicious grilled sandwiches with cheese and pesto. Yum. Tonight we went to the theatre, which was in Spanish and thus completely incomprehensible to me, to see El Avaro by Molière. There were three people who made the play worthwhile but aside from that I couldn't really pay attention and it was hot in the theatre. Always I am happy to see people acting, though, and this was no exception. Darby's friend from school, Magda, came with us and she is from Poland so we started talking about how my grandma is Polish and Magda said she is going home in January and if I want to come visit Poland while she's there she will show me around and take me to the mountains, which I didn't know existed in Poland, and for that I am very excited. I might take a trip then, my Christmas (late) holiday, and that will be freaking awesome. Yeah.

We stopped at McDonald's on the way home (which was wierd but didn't feel as horrible as it should have) and attempted to understand the guy asking us if we wanted fritas o deluxes which means skinny or flat fries, because you get a choice here. Ah, España.

Well the fam is in the living room and I'm feeling kind of awkward being on the computer, so that's it for tonight. But don't say I didn't post any pictures. Hope you're all well. Take care.
