BBC 606 to close
Yesterday I was sad to learn that the BBC is planning to close its 606 sports forum.

I met my sweetie indirectly through 606 and know of another couple - now engaged to be married - who also met on it. I've also met several other people on there who are now friends in real life, including the lady I shared my season ticket with. I probably wouldn't have a season ticket this year if it hadn't been for meeting her. I started using 606 when LJ and most other message boards, blog and social networking sites were banned at work. I'll really miss it.
I know Radio 6 Music was saved but I have a feeling that 606 is definitely going to go. It's not been as much fun lately as it used to be a few years back and I have been using it a lot less, so hopefully I won't miss it as much as I think... we'll see.
