Hjellestad is a small marina just south of the runway of Bergen's airport (Flesland.) It may look tranquil in the photos but you have to imagine aircraft of various sorts (commercial jets, small planes, helicopters) flying over somewhat noisily every 10 or 15 minutes. We were told they don't have any night flights but their morning flights certainly start in the early hours!
Anyway, forget the planes - I didn't get any good photos of them from Hjellestad anyway. There's just this tiny harbour and a single shop (minimarket type thing) and that's about it. We went for a bit of a walk but didn't really find much else.
Rosebay willow herb:
Boathouses:
Tiny rock plants:
Harebells:
A garden further along the coast (a long hot walk away and not really worth it when we got there!) Old tyres have been flattened and linked to form a trackway - currently heaped up but could be used when it gets very muddy, or perhaps when it's snowy/icy in winter.
I'm finding it really difficult to type Hjellestad - specifically the Hj part. It doesn't exactly trip off the fingers.
