Skudeneshavn

Skudeneshavn is a beautiful place, winner of awards for something like prettiest best preserved small town in Norway or some such. The marina is small and twisty, formed of inlets between small islands. At first we thought there wasn't room for us (Thermopylae Clipper is 60ft which is quite long, so the number of berths that can accommodate her is limited.) Fortunately a Norwegian family kindly made way for us, then rafted up alongside us.

We arrived in the early afternoon so had plenty of time to spend in the place. Some of the others went for a meal in what was apparently a nice restaurant, but Pip and I had more of a walk and a look around. Pip had enough before I did, so he headed back to the boat and I stayed taking photos, then got caught in heavy rain and had to shelter for what seemed like hours. (Speaking of which, there's some spectacular lightning outside at the moment so it seems like I'm going to get caught in heavy rain again today.)

These photos were taken shortly before and after the deluge, hence the black skies. They've all been resized in Photobucket but are otherwise exactly as they came off the camera; no cropping or any other adjustments. Some could perhaps use a bit but I often wait "until I've got time to tweak them" and of course never have the time, so I'm just posting them "as is".
