nola and new years
i am sitting in the airport in memphis waiting for my connection home. i love it when you can go away for three nights and feel like it was wayyyyyyy longer.
the visit to nola was awesome.
biegnets - check (at 2 different places)
po-boy - check

french quarter- check

hanging out with awesome people - check
what a sweet place. what a lovely trip and way to usher in the new year. i was checking about a flight for jazz fest already.
i realized it had been a long time since i went to a place where i have not been before. i love learning about new places and since it seems like my fear of flying has mostly gone away i am really excited to go other places.
it will be nice to sleep in my own bed with my dog curled up by my side.
by the time i arrive in nyc the results from iowa should be in. exciting!
i am not big on new years resolutions but it did strike me that i would like to use my time to the fullest potential. the first day i was there i was awake for 23 hours (there was a short nap before nye festivities) and there was something so great about getting so many experiences in.
that and p and d have on their bathroom mirror a affirmation that says "people like me when i am myself"
they have converted me to the louise hay affirmation a day calendar ordered and on the way to my house - check)
