Civic Duty
So. Apparently I had jury duty on Monday. Oops. >_> Here begins my life of crime. Oh noes.
The consequences of this offense seem to be either a fine, going to jail, or both. I am thinking about looking into the jail stay because I seriously cannot afford any fine they may feel the need to inflict on me for failing to follow through with my civic duty. No, really. Although I really doubt things will get that far. I mean, it was an accident. I am allowed to forget things (sometimes). I've been told by a reliable source that the courts will just send me an angry letter and request my presence some other day OR ELSE. Okay, maybe not that last part, but still.
Why do they enlist college students for jury duty anyway? No offense, but if I was on trial, I would NOT want any 18 or 19 year olds on my jury. Or anyone under 25 for that matter. Or anyone who hasn't seen and loved the new Star Trek movie. For really now.
