The Ballad of Schwann Oltorain

In the city of Zaphias there once was a knight
by the name of Schwann, with a smile so bright.
He was young, full of promise, not a care in the world,
The only thing he wanted was the heart of a girl.
The rejection she gave him shook him to the core
but he couldn't dwell on it, cause it was time for a war.
It would be called the Great War, and many people died
when Schwann's love Casey was slain, he cried;
"Why couldn't it have been me?" he spoke too soon
as he was stabbed through the heart by a harpoon.
As he lay there dying he saw the form of a man
it was Commandant Alexei, with an outrageous plan.
He replaced Schwann's ruined heart with a blastia core
It was something that had never been done before.
"But what's the point of living without Casey?" Schwann said.
Alexei responded "now you'll live for me instead."
The Great War was over but Alexei wasn't yet done
the empire was weak, cause the dead king had no son.
With no heir to the throne, the factions were divided
and as he watched the chaos Alexei decided;
"I will take my place as ruler, and I'll do it by force,
and Schwann you will be by my side of course."
Schwann had no choice, Alexei held his life in his hands,
The bright smile was gone, he was a different man.
But as cold and emotionless as he had become
Schwann knew in his heart that he needed to run.
His only way out was to become someone else
so for this he created Raven, his other self.
This new man, Raven, was kind and carefree
He was known for flirting with every lady he'd see.
But try as he might, he could not get away
He had almost lost all hope until one day;
He met a young man, Yuri, who fought for his own ideal,
when traveling with his group his heart finally started to heal.
When the found out the truth about the scheming Alexei,
Yuri exclaimed, "we're gonna make him pay!"
And so they set out to stop Alexei's crazed scheme
Schwann knew one last way he could help his team.
They were shocked and dismayed when Schwann stood in their way,
"I'm sorry, but there's nothing else I have to say"
The fight was not long, Schwann soon collapsed
and the building started to rumble, one of Alexei's traps.
the pillars began to fall, they were in trouble
"Go on, run!" Schwann said as he held up the rubble.
Schwann smiled to himself as they ran, turning their backs
"Now that I'm dying for something, I can finally relax,"
Through the pain and deceit and the tricks and the guile
"Thanks to you kids, at the end I was able to smile".
