Well the actual wedding was wonderful. They had it at the Delaney Winery and Vineyard in Grapevine. Very classy. Beautiful spacious interior. The had a wine bar instead of a regular open bar, which was nice for a Sunday middle-of-the-day wedding. Laura’s dress was gorgeous with a long train which meshed well with the old feel of the room. And of course, John looked handsome in his tux. Shanna and I both got teary eyed during the ceremony. The only drawback was the professional photographers. Not unobtrusive in any way shape or form. They stood in front of us at the end so we missed the kiss. They asked people to move during the ceremony. And to top it all off, the lady photographer’s cell phone went off right in the middle of the “I Now Pronounce You…” part. Extremely annoying. John said he didn’t even notice. I probably wouldn’t either. It seemed like the perfect HEA wedding and I am so happy for both of them. I don’t know Laura at all, but if John loves her then that’s all I need to know. He is such an awesome guy and deserves to be outrageously happy.
After the ceremony, they rearranged the chairs and had the reception. The food was excellent, the cake divine, but the best part was the string quartet. They did such a good job. When they left, everyone applauded and the cellist gave a bow as he left. I told Shanna that when I am rich someday, I want a string quartet to play in my house. It’s very relaxing and peaceful. (Note to self: listen to classical music more often).
Unfortunately, I have no pictures as my camera broke a couple of weeks ago but Shanna got a few shots with her phone and I am sure that John will post some of the wedding pics.
