Remember that X-Mas miracle I was waiting to occur?
IT OCCURRED!
Yesterday, Liane called and asked if I wanted to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra:
!!!!!!!
It turned out that her sister couldn't go, and they had the extra ticket.
Thanks are not enough for what I was treated to. It really was an amazing night. And the company was perfect, since Liane and I both fangirled over classical music. ("OMG! CANON IN D!")
Anyway, thanks to the beautiful and wonderful Liane, I have regained my Christmas spirit. It feels so good.
It's great to finally be on break. I think Dad's planning on going to Whitetail again tomorrow, but my binding's are still broken, and I think he's forgotten. Maybe we can take it to Bikles before we leave. (See how I'm not cowering in fear of repeating my debacle last week?) I have my resolve back.
It's break time that also means, NO MORE MESSIAH! FUCK YES! I think it went as well as it could possibly go. I never got that fifth position part in "Unto Us A Child Is Born." And I definitely missed entrances all over. But nothing too terrible. (Of course there's intonation, the eternal bane of string players) The soloists were so good. I was very impressed and amazed with all of them.
I found myself talking to Justin's grandma afterward, who kept going on about how long it was. At one point she said something along the lines of, "Oh ... how should I put it?" And I was 100% expecting her to say "Too many ... too many notes."
"I don't understand. There are exactly as many notes as I require. No more, no less."
Under the cut = a special Christmas gift for all who click. I'm not even kidding.
