Oh Thorin building gardens in Erebor and Bilbo feeling all sad and conflicted, because he hadn't come to see them was really touching. Poor Bilbo still hasn't realized the extend of the rings influence.

It's really interesting how this world is so different because of all the slight changes to the timeline, but still so recognizable.

Saruman! Now this will be interesting!

I know, and Thorin hasn't realized exactly how much Bilbo has taken it to heart, and...grrr.

Isn't it fun? Saruman is actually a good example...not "out" as a villain, yet probably too far gone to be redeemed at this point... I spent a lot of time poring over genealogies and making notes about who would be what age about now! *bounces happily* I'm thrilled you're enjoying!

Saruman at the end was like the icing on the cake. I'm now very much looking forward to what he's trying to pull and how this "fellowship" will come together and deal with it. Especially looking forward to all the people they might meet along the way. *beams*

Hehehe, Saruman showing up was great fun to write! He and the dwarves hit it off just great, in some ways, of course...

I can hardly wait to get them out on the road, to be honest! It'll take a while to get everyone there and get the wheels turning, but eventually they'll get moving... *taps foot impatiently*

"Singing echoed everywhere, cheerful and deep"... What a glorious, wonderful destiny for Moria. I love your descriptions. And oh my, another momentous visitor!

Ah, thank you! Salvaging Moria is REALLY satisfying! I so want them to get it back and keep it... And the next few chapters might just be one momentous visitor after another--I see now why Tolkien had Frodo show up one of the last to the Council, just to avoid the constant "Oh look! A party from Erebor! But wait! It's a man from Gondor!" :P

Saruman? Oh fuck. I didn't think it'd be Gandalf, but I was kind of hoping it'd be Radagast. *cuddles Bilbo*

So lovely to see Moria alive and thriving in this 'verse. The Dwarves deserve to have it. I have a feeling they're going to go disturb the Balrog anyway, but I could be wrong. I'm not the writer. ;)

Oh, Bilbo, honey, Thorin could never blame you for wanting to stay in the Shire. I imagine he's figured that the damn ring influenced Bilbo more than Bilbo himself realizes.

Babies! So glad they have a chance to just be a couple for awhile!

Saruman has heard interesting rumors! He's just here to give advice, yessss...

Still, even if the balrog DOES show up, he doesn't have his orc armies and if he gets taken down Moria should survive it as a colony. *nods firmly*

I know! It's a long road ahead of them, so a moment to rest and be a couple makes me very happy... Many more arrivals in the next couple of chapters, whee! :)

The gardens! *sniffles with you* I'm really enjoying writing them being on the same page and yet...not, in some important ways...

Uh oh. I can't help but think Saruman spells big time trouble. Where's Gandalf when you need him.

And I love the idea of the gardens in the deeps.

The gardens are swiped right from the Lord of the Rings Online Game, lol! They're really cool and I can totally imagine the dwarves setting them up...

Gandalf is not far behind! He is off meddling where he shouldn't first... *grin*
