Once again into the breach
I really need a place that I can spout off about stuff in my life. So here again, I come. I was going to do some really cool open entries with codes, and aliases and metaphors... but that's a lot of work when I really just need to spill my guts. So I'm going back to friends' only status but feel free to ask to join. It should be a fun ride. -
Unexpected
Got called into work tonight. J. called in sick again. Then I see on the schedule that she picked up 5 additional hours on Wednesday. Why are we rewarding people for missing shifts? At least I got to work with H - we always have fun ( Read more... ) -

And it all crashes...
First time opening the store in over a year... all is well. I leave at 5:15pm and an hour later I get a frantic call from B.: one of the tills is short over $10.00. Grrrrr. Retail Hell
This is why I know I don't belong in retail: there are *three* women here talking to each other, each one with 2+ kids, probably not shopping but milling around because, honestly, what else is there to do here? So I'm alone tonight - J. called in sick (for about the 200th time since the beginning of the year... I made a crucial mistake yesterday - I decided to pick up a book I'd been waiting to read for a long time... and finished half of it before work... putting me in not such a great mood while at the bookstore.
