Okay...so I'm liking the orange wings with poem the best...but that's not what I'm posting about. I'm looking at a Dell for a new comp...but I'm not computer savvy...and when it comes to customising a computer, well...blah...

So I'm looking at...I dunno...
there's:

I really don't know much about PC's, so I can't really help. But I would say go with the best model you can afford. It will last longer.

And I would say to always go with parts ... So I can't help here - I don't know anything about Dells. The specs look satisfactory - but even so, they don't compare to my Luthien and I got her a year ago now.

I just think that ... you get a better deal with parts. If I could afford it, I'd be willing to tell you what to buy and have it shipped here - then I'd build it for you and ship it to you. But ... that's expensive shipping.

I think, if you're going with a manufactured, "closed" system, you seem to have picked two decent models. But ...

Don't do anything until after you're settled. Wait until August at least - and I'd advise that you wait longer than that. See what it'll cost you to live with necessities first ...

I hope you're feeling better than you were the other day.
Have a good night! :)

Well...I do have the option of buying parts and building. And I actually can build the machine myself...almost. There are a few things that I might not be too certain on. My only deal is...what exactly am I looking for? Pentium IV...what kind of sound card would I want? Do I need an exceptional video card...speakers...will the sound card I get be useable with digital speakers? (I have a set and well, don't really want to buy another set if I don't absolutely have to) My other option, instead of buying a Dell =P is to go into a small little computer store where the guys know me from...well, from about two years ago... have them order all the parts for me...and well...voila. I'd have it...*sigh* computers were so much easier when I had someone else to deal with them. But I need to do it myself sometime right ( ... )
