Okay...so I'm liking the orange wings with poem the best...but that's not what I'm posting about. I'm looking at a Dell for a new comp...but I'm not computer savvy...and when it comes to customising a computer, well...blah...

So I'm looking at...I dunno...
there's:
Dimension 4600
-Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.80GHz
-MS Windows XP Home Edition
-256MB Shared Dual Channel DDR SDRAM
-40GB Hard Drive
-17" (16.0" v.i.s., .27dp) E773 Monitor
-Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2
-16x DVD-ROM Drive
-Integrated 5.1 Channel Audio
-no speakers... =( *pouts*
-1-year limited warranty;1-year at-home service
all for $749

add $150 for 24x CD-ROM in the 4600Cinstead of the 16x DVD-ROM in the 4600...*ponders*

add $29 to any machine for Microsoft Works Suite (Word, Spreadsheet, Outlook Express, Microsoft Money, Encarta)
add $149 for Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Money)
add $279 for Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, Microsoft Money)

then there's the
Dimension 8300
-Intel Pentium 4 Processor with HT Technology at 3GHz with 800MHz Front Side Bus
-MS Windows XP Home Edition
-256MB Shared Dual Channel DDR SDRAM
-80GB Hard Drive
-17" (16.0" v.i.s., .27dp) E773 Monitor
-128MB NVIDIA GeForceFX 5200 Graphics Card
-16x DVD-ROM Drive
-Integrated 5.1 Channel Audio
-no speakers... =( *pouts*
-1-year limited warranty;1-year at-home service
all for $1099

*sigh* of course, that's the base of it all...if I actually went in and customised things then prices would be different...but...*sigh* I wish I knew more...
