Mmmm, fall is upon us and I sit here wrapped up in a two person throw to keep toasty.
Been meaning to post that things went ok on Monday, I did the test, it was easier than I expected (I guess my boss removed a lot of stuff the Friday before), but now I've got the oral portion tomorrow and the "essay" to write. I'm feeling ok about the oral part, the essay is going to be stressful, since they don't say what topic until after I pass the oral section, and it's going to the CEO and Exec. VP. Good thing I've got an excellent proofer in Tym!
So last weekend was cool, we walked Adam's Ave Street Fair, the mangoes weren't as ripe this year, but the Irish Car Bombs were as effective. Then we did the AIDS Walk on Sunday with
msformaldehyde's team. It grew from last year, which was great, and we had fun walking, even Tym, after getting nailed in the balls by a certain pickle kicker. Oh, and watching Brian walk by the "Bears" and having them check him out was hysterical! Great brunch back at
mhon123's and it was a great day.
Other than the test, work has been relatively uneventful, just busy for me with 3 events coming up. This weekend I have to finish 2 more squares for my contribution to the Warm Up America blanket being made and donated by the Gothic Volunteer Alliance, but I did leave them behind yesterday for a lovely day trip to Julian. We met up with
deliylah and Brian, shopped for candy and gifts, did a yummy wine tasting at Witch Creek (came back with some tempranillo and pomegranate wine), bought soaps and candles, stood in the ridiculously long line for Mom's Apple Pie (YUM, apple cherry is amazing!!!) and then wrapped it up with bbq at Bailey's. We were fat and happy by the end of it, which made the drive home seem longer. We stopped at Dudley's for some bread, but upon seeing the line extending the length of their barn-like building, decided we didn't need bread *that* much. More lounging about and knitting, I think Tym went to the midnight Buffy "Once More With Feeling", but I was out by then, and he's not up yet to tell me what he did.
Today I get to hang out with my friend Debbie with lunch and a movie (belated b-day woo hoo!), maybe some shopping at the mall. Oh, and then the GVA meeting tonight. Back to those squares!
And I must also share how my sweet husband brought me roses for our 6 month anniversary,
