Would it help if I reminded you that people got the idea of An Older Bearded God who Strikes People with Lighting from ancient mythologies (Thor & Zeus for example)?

So.... you should be winning :)

well... it would help, except that i'm pretty sure i'm not in great favor with any of the male gods... pagan or not... at least if they were somewhat patriarchal power whores... ;) i blame feminism... damn feminists!!!... er... wait... oh, and on a completely unrelated note... can you repair jewelry? specifically jewelry you make? the necklace tgrey bought me has become somewhat broken (the leaf necklace)... i don't think it would be a big repair... one of the clasp ends broke off. it's perhaps my favorite necklace/ piece of jewelry by far at this point, so i'm hoping it can be fixed...

Of course, that shouldn't be a problem. How should I get it from you? :)

good question... tgrey knows your approximate location, i believe, so we could possibly deliver it to you in the near future... maybe even today (later this evening?) if you are available... also, if you (and michael?) would ever like to join us for trivia and beer on tuesday evenings we'd love to have you out... ;)

.. Your post made look up lightning safety. When I came across this one:

If you see a flash in the sky, start counting "one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand", and so on until you hear thunder. Take that number and divide it by 5. This will let you know how many miles away the approaching storm is. For every five seconds the storm is 1 mile away.

... all I could think of, was, how useless that is if you don't get a chance to start counting when you hear the thunder...

i've done the counting thing numerous times... it never makes me feel any better, really, for as you mentioned lightning can strike with no warning whatsoever... it knows no time-frame. plus, there can be numerous storm fronts coming into/ already in one location at the same time... as you may note, i've already expended waaaayyy too much energy into (onto?) my phobia =/
