Agfa, digital, 120, photography

The junkshop was calling, so I went. Sniffed around in the back shelf that houses a million lost lenses and flash attachments and found....

This beauty.

It has two shutter speeds, B and something like 1/30, mounts for tripod and cable release, a pull-out tab featuring two differently sized 'apertures' and a yellow filter, the lens is deep within the body so it doesn't get damaged, the shutter works perfectly, AND it takes 120 rollfilm. It opens a bit oddly; the back side of the camera is a hinged door, and one must pull out the advance knob to remove the metal bits that house the film reels and the lens. Is missing its carrystrap, but that is easily replaced. It is very light and echoes like a coffeecan when I drum my nails on the body.

It feels warm and rough to the touch, like snakeskin, and the shutter makes a delightful metallic click-clack when I flip the switch. There is a very old metal 120 reel inside that says AGFA ANSCO on its sides.

Mine is much dirtier than the linked picture, and the faceplate is unlike that one as it only says Agfa - none of the other text is there.

I went to my local Ass Kickety Camera Shop for film, and got the same dude I always get. (This man has helped me put batteries in Konicas and Nikkormats, helped me try to resuscitate the light meter on a toasted Vivitar, fitted my Brownie for film.. he's awesome.) I said, as I was leaving, "Thanks for putting up with me!" He just smiled.

In other news, I went to school today. Before registering for classes, I changed my major to digital photography.
