Okay, what the fuck Ukraina? How could Verka Serduchka win 2nd place? What is wrong with this universe? And honestly, vocalist of The Arc...where have you been all my life???

Russia, you totally blew. I have no idea why the European countries voted you third but holy fuck Serebro  (Silver)  was bad. They were disorganized and messy, and couldn't sing in harmony. And the lyrics? "Oh, don't call me funny bunny/I'll blow your money, money/I'll get you to my bad ass spinning for you/Oh, I'll make it easy, honey/I'll take your money, yummy/I've got my bitches standing up next to me"  Ummm yea, ew? How much more unoriginal could they have been. And they had terrible stage presence. The middle girl kept jerking around like she was a puppet on strings under the control of someone with tourettes, and the two side girls didn't even move. And they couldn't get the hang of singing at the exact same time... I'm honestly so ashamed of Russia right now. Out of all the horrible artists we have to choose from, they picked this? If I hear "Song #1" one more time, I'm going to kill the tv.

And Ukraine? I thought it was a joke at first. I mean, Verka Serduchka? He/she's not even a real drag queen. I have yet to figure out what species it is. I think his real name is Andrey. I really really thought it was a joke. But no, he came out and did his usual piece. How could that get 2nd place? My dad said that I have an aversion to Serduchka because I grew up listening to him, but she/he is something new to Europe and it was interesting for them to see. Serduchka's lyrics are downright idiotic. They're nonsense. Or at least, I thought they were. Until the first chorus of his/her nonsense song turned out to say "goodbye russia". Um okay. See if you ever get to tour in Russia ever again. Great way to break ties and make enemies on European television. Dick.

The winner was this rather interesting-looking chick named Maria Serifovic from Serbia. When she first came out and opened her mouth, I kind of silently likened her to Kyo right away. She is short and rather...not gorgeous in the conventional sense. But holy fuck, her voice was fucking awesome! And really emotional. The name of it was "Molitva", which translates to "Prayer".

I never realized how pretty Finland's Hanna is. She is a fucking knockout. And she has really good stage presence. I also really liked Solevinia's Alenka Gotar. She is an opera singer, and her voice was really powerful. I think I might try to find her opera stuff. And definitely taken with Greece's Sarbel who sang "Yassou Maria". He's an awesome dancer, and the song itself was really fun. Lol, awww. Bulgaria's Elitsa and Stoyan did a great job, I'm really fucking impressed with their song "Water". The performance was really invigorating and creative. Moldova also impressed me with Natalia Barbu and her strong voice. She sang a song called "Fight" and one of the notes, she held for a really long time and it was so pretty *-*.

I was not impressed with Armenia's Hayko. He did a very plain run-of-the-mill ballad. Eh. Nice voice, but something missing. Nor was I impressed with Turkey's Kenan Dogulu. Nothing special. I'm not going to start bashing people now, but I have to rant about Belarus' Dmitry Kaldun. Every one made such a big deal out of him, oh he's so talented and charismatic and great and special, and when I saw his performance, I had such an "eh -.-" face. He sang a song called "Work Your Magic" and I think that is the reason I was so turned off. He has a nice voice, but his russian accent really took away from the song. The words he had a hard time pronouncing correctly really downsized his vocal ability and strained him and made his voice ... lispy-er? than it is.

But oh! I was rooting for Sweden's The Arc! That vocalist is the most adorable kitten I have ever seen. Ola Salo - hello. Meet your new fan. I am totally smitten and need to find their *does fierce research* 3 albums. Kitten kitten kitten. =^.^=  I just looked up one of the music videos, and he reminded me of Jann Wilde....so I looked Jann Wilde up on youtube and found interviews of them TOGETHER. AGH, my mind is going in weird plaaaaaaaaces!

I'll probably add more to this later. I still have to absorb the shock that Ukraine is in 2nd place and that Russia even made it in the top 10 with their entry. I mean, national pride and all....but they might as well have invited SMS or Via Gra for all the originality they offered.  Okay, more to come later when it's not 4 in the morning.

And I got a haircut which looks hideous.

[edit] - I remembered what I forgot to say before. I liked Hanna, really, I did. But a small (erm, large) part of me was imagining what LOVEX would have looked like on that stage. They would have kicked ass. They came in third place in Finland, beated by Hanna and Thunderstone. I'm not sure what song they used. I think "Anyone Anymore." Maybe they would have had more success with "Wild and Violent"? But aww, poor boys. I really wish Lovex had a chance at this year's Eurovision. Next year, hopefully!
