More end-of-the-year stuff.

My fic year in review:
Quantity-wise, SO not of the good. Twelve finished stories in seven fandoms (counting crossovers), 6379 words. Plus 862 words in
bayban's journal. Less than half the wordage of the previous year. I do have a lot of unfinished things that I've added to, but still, I call that pathetic. On the good side, I tried some new fandoms, which was one of my goals for the year; and I do like some of the stories. And I spent about three months of my writing time on original writing exercises, which was challenging and illuminating.
Stories I wrote this year:
These are in my previous
2006 Story Index post.
My new WIP's were:
This question always confuses me. I'm not posting any WIPs, but I do have several new stories I'm still working on. The only longish one is the House/Harry Potter crossover "Is There a Wizard in the House?" The rest aren't WIPs so much as unfinished; There's a Labyrinth/Harry Potter ficlet, a Willow/Snape ficlet, and a couple of 'Jarriere on the Scorpio' stories. Oh, and an outline for a Numb3rs ficlet.
My favourite story this year (of my own):
Honestly, I'm really proud of
Apparition. It was so much fun meshing Numb3rs and Harry Potter. And I think the voices are decent, and it strikes the right tone of light humor without being silly. IMHO.
My best story this year:
Hm. Apart from
Apparition, can a drabble be a best story? Because people seemed to like
Intervention pretty well. And it's tight, and accomplishes what it set out to do.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I think a poorly written teaser put a lot of people off of reading
Scatterbrained. It's a perfectly innocent story, but I couldn't figure out how to convey it properly. I must really correct that.
Most fun story:
Hey! All my stories are fun. Er, okay,
Apparition again. And anything in the
'Jarriere on the Scorpio' series is fun, too.
Sexiest story:
More romantic than sexy, but
Pas de Deux.
Story with single sexiest moment:
Again, probably
Pas de Deux.
Hardest story to write:
Apparition again. My brain didn't want to switch back and forth between Snape and Larry.
Most unintentionally telling story:
As I said last year, why would I tell you that? Honestly, if these stories say anything significant about me, I really don't want to know.
Most "[[ACK]] HEY *I* WROTE THAT" fanon-turned-canon moment:
Avon turning up on House, M.D., of course.
;-)
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would did this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
So much less than I'd thought I would. I'm extremely peeved. On the other hand, I did learn a lot. Ah, well.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2005?
I didn't know I'd ever be able to write Numb3rs, and I definitely didn't expect to write Avon/Cally.
What's your favorite story of the year?
I read almost no fic last year that I didn't beta, so I'm not sure it's fair to answer this. I'm enjoying
kerravonsen's Anya/Snape ficlets, though.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
It's always a risk. My goals are lofty, my skills uncertain, my ego paranoid and intermittently fragile. Although, have I mentioned my fic
Apparition?
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
