So I went to the doctor's appointment on Tuesday, and I took a list of concerns with me. It was just a regular check up, not a sick visit, so I was essentially just talking to the Dr. and Physicians assistant.
So I go in and they do my vitals, weight, height... all the regular fun stuff. They comment on my loss of weight. Then we get into the nitty-gritty.
I had gone in with a list of 3 things. 1.) concern about family history of heart disease. 2.) concern over the hypoglycemic attack I had on 10/12 because diabetes runs in my family. 3.) concern over the possibility of Fobromyalgia because my Dad was diagnosed with it about a month to a month and a half ago(more on that)
so... 1.) I had blood work done before the appt to look at everything, and My MD looked at my lipid profile and told me my cholesterols looked perfect. Even better than perfect and unless I am having some sort of palpitation or chest pain, then I have no need to worry about any sort of heart disease.
2.) the diabetes as well is no concern, as my blood work is wonderful. All of my blood work was perfect.
3.) I told the doctor that I was concerned about Fibromyalgia(FM) as I had learned that it was highly hereditery and my father had recently been diagnosed with it. While doing research on it, both my father and I had found that I show many of the symptoms of FM. After finding that information, I called my md and made the appt. I explained my concern, he talked to me, asked questions, and looked back in my history. Did the pressure point test, and therefore diagnosed me with FM. He put me on pain management (Voltaren) and a neurological medication to help the central nervous system work correctly (Lyrica).
So that is the extent of my doctors appointment. I will be having a post soon about the FM, but the Lyrica that I am on makes me a little spacey, so it might be a little but until I can post that.
