Be careful what you wish for???

What started as a way to get client practice hours with adults with ADHD for my psychotherapy qualification has taken a rather interesting turn. I cornered the specialist at Addenbrookes today, as I sent him my application for starting the project for him to review two weeks ago and hadn't heard anything. I was at the hospital anyway, and thought taking the chance was worth it. And it was - we had a good half hour chat about how to add and refine some of the info in it, which was great.

During this discussion, he mentioned an author who he met at the recent international ADHD conference in Berlin, and showed me the conference booklet. I was very appreciative, and told him how I would really have loved to go, and hope that I might be able to have the funds and opportunity to go to the next one, which is in 2013. He turned to me and said, "Well, it is entirely feasible that we could submit a poster of this pilot to the conference."

My pilot project.

On display at an international conference.

All assuming it goes well, of course. I still have to figure out exactly what I'm doing, what I'm measuring, how it all fits together with working with actual REAL people...you know, important details.

Otherwise, I'm floored.
