I just realised I haven't updated since Thursday, so I can now fill in the extra bits.
Friday, I handed in my notice. It's been a very interesting reaction at work, and not entirely what I expected. Mon Petite Boss was surprised and congratulatory, rapidly followed by a flurry of questions as to where I was in my current work and what needed to be done in the next 8 weeks. This was also quickly followed by plans for a leaving do! I did tell her it was almost worse telling her I was leaving than it was applying for the job; it's a great group of people to work with and I'm leaving them right in the middle of the project I was handling. So there'll be lots of prep work for the next person who comes along! The news spread pretty fast, and I even had someone from R&D come in and tell me I'd be missed, which was really nice and very complimentary.
Saturday we had a bit of a lie-in, but I was off to London by 2 PM for the Massage Weekend.
ephemera was a fantastic host, as usual, and as we were a bit thin on the ground this time we spent alot of time chatting and getting to know one another better. So much so, in fact, that we had to quickly get a massage in before bedtime got too late! }:D Sunday brought a
dreamsewing in with the sunshine, and it turns out she's a
Third Culture Kid as well! (More references
here). Nice to meet you, hon - and looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Back again Sunday night, to pretty much eat and crash. Up this morning for work, which mostly amounted to filing and data entry as our email is well and truly sporked. Apparently something happened to the Hospital Outlook servers on Tuesday that they didn't catch. Which meant by Friday we had no email at all, anywhere. Most people had their inboxes back up today, but it's been slightly distressing because when we got ours, there was no Calendar, Contacts, or Inbox folders to be seen. And most of us track our current To Do's based on the URGENT EMAILS we've received from sites, nurses, contracting departments, etc. We're really hoping they have a good backup from last Wednesday that we can get back in the next couple of days, or we are well and truly screwed.
Then it was on to Pilates, and now we're having a nice fish dinner. Yum! And we're all caught up. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
