Was There Anyone Who Even Turned Up With A Hint Of Silver?
Waking up this morning was weird.
I have a hangover that I am not complaining about because I'm very amused by it. Like how I tell Miss Ninja Sponge, I think I'd love waking up next to myself after a drunken night because of my grumpy morning face. Add a hangover to that and I become an instant Bjork MTV face mutation. I'm also surprised how ready I am to blog about this (Very! Because Last Night Was Awesome.) given that I'd been so resistant to blogging for the longest time.
It's ludicrous that I am even awake, much less being coherent and I dare say, typing like I was coasting through Velvet last night on mineral water. (Hardee Har Har, no.) But now, I am starting to remember fleeting illusions from last night and strange words that stumbled out of my mouth and yours, whoever you may be. And. I Look At The Photos. I don't even know half of the folks in there.
In any case, Happy Birthday York and Velvet. (At which point, I think I forgot to rip the price tag off York's present before it was wrapped up!) Here are the photos, folks.
NOTE: There are wayyyy too many photos after the cut and I will remove most very soon. I just have to figure the html and jazz.
So that was the first part of the evening where Susie and Zhu staged a surprise celebration for York At Bar Stop (6, Devonshire Road. Those mini steak sandwiches were really not bad.) That picture of York and Candice with eyes closed amuses me greatly because it looks like they were saying grace before downing all that alcohol. And Sam is not perturbed when I puppet him in doing some tacky dance moves. I don't even think anyone remembers me shaking his shoulders into a shimmy. Lovely place.
Then it was off to Velvet. This is where my blog starts to look like Denyse Tan's. Celine and Rachel. Bumped into Jason whom I, sadly, never speak to these days. Willie, Bryan, Jimmy, Tony. (I've got a pretty good memory despite it all.) And Alis who's into pastry and baking now. Quincy and Jasmine. How come no photos?
This is where it all got a little scary. I remember their names from last night but I have no idea why there's so much kissing and in one instance, humping. Before I forget, that's... Mervyn, Wei Kheng, Sharon. I forgot the name of the Zouk PR girl. I know, of all people right? Gill. There was also Rob Goldenberg and his friend who took an awful picture of the 5 of us, Sebastian is in the background of one of the photos and everything else I 'm not so clear. Bah bah black sheep have you any wool.
The $2 note in Sharon's hands were found off the floor. I don't know how I managed to get Gill to pucker up. Dollei, Cynthia (I don't know her personally), Phin. And Mister WLW who's fresh off the boat from Washington.
It was nice to chill after the recent spate of nonsense. Kudos to me for not touching a single stick last night.
