Hey!

Side note.

I'm a huge Big O fan. Most people who talk to me online know this. I've watched the episodes repeatedly, to a nerd level.

A few things have eluded me for awhile now, but two things stand out in particular: The lyrics of the Union's anthem, and the lyrics of the "Prayer" song.

Good news. Finally figured out the second one. It was hard, because it seems like they're either purposefully mangling the words, or the Japanese have an even more adorable command of english than I previously expected. But I managed to figure out a key line, and a google search solved that.

3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

4 They shall see His face, and His name [shall] [be] on their foreheads.

5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

The source? Revelations 22. Kind of interesting, when you think about just what state the citizens of Paradigm City were apparently locked in.

Last thoughts for the night: There are a shocking variety of ways for human life to continue after death, even with consciousness.

But more pertinent: There is a point of commonality between most concepts of heaven and hell, Christian and otherwise. That point is eternal life. Want to torment someone for all time? Give them immortality, freedom, and autonomy. Want to give someone heaven on earth? Give them the same thing.

Alright, too much theology and philosophy. I just was happy I finally figured out what they were saying. Now to figure out the Union song. Damn frenchmen.
