This is one of those "six degrees of separation" stories.

I'm a bit sensitive to poorly constructed language. I'm no linguo-prude (I made that word up), but the state of the language lately has me more responsive than usual. So today when I heard a proper, English speaker -  from England - on the BBC use "favoritize" in an otherwise sensible ( Read more... )

I irateitize when I hear "comprised of," but that's "a whole nuther" story. I actually advented upon this impostmemt to declaim that Glen Beck actually says, "I don't report the news, I commentate." BTW, spell check doesn't red-line that word.

Re: commentate, I think that's coming from an older inventorated word: "commentator", that started, I think, with sports announcers. "Our color commentator tonight is Dink Winkerson."

Let's all try to use as many constructorated words as possible, aka Oswald Bates from In Living Color!

All the more reason to shrink from the Wink. Sportscasters are perhaps THE most egregious offenders.
