Curses! CURSES!!!!!!!
My second favorite radio station has changed formats!! Bastards! 99.3 KVYN "The Vine" out of Napa went from a pretty kick ass alt-rock station with unpolished, slackerly DJs to the stinky pile of shit known as "adult contemporary". Their web site hasn't changed yet, so I have hope that the lame, middle aged guy that was on the air this morning was in fact a disgruntled, white male between the ages of 40-65 that took over the station after feeling his radio needs were not being met. He probably tied up the young DJs and started playing his own mild, and inoffensive material on the air, but has since been quietly removed by the authorities. Either that, or the station changed formats over the weekend without any warning or explanation, killing one of the few stations that was dedicated to playing alt-rock from the early 90s (a personal favorite of mine, thank you very much.)
On the bonus side of things, I got my America 24/7 book in the mail today. My little pictures are on the far left of pages 86 and 96 if anyone wants to look at them at the bookstore. It's kind of underwhelming once you see it and you will probably have to squint. But! my little pictures share the page with other little pictures taken by Ed Kashi who has worked for National Geographic and the New York Times, and Eli Reed who is a member of Magnum, and has been published just about everywhere. My picture is as big as Eli Reed's! Ha!
