The road between the city of Bath and the village of Wellow is closed. Well, part of it is. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by such a situation but this evening I was mightily annoyed by it.
You see, this evening I was required to visit the village of Wellow, and I didn't know about the road closure. When I encountered it, it was already dark and because of the appalling mobile phone coverage in that part of the countryside, I couldn't use the GPS feature on my phone to tell me where I was going. So I just had to trust the yellow diversion sign and hope for the best.
After a couple of miles of going down a windy, dark lane I found myself approaching a main road of some description. I couldn't tell which main road but the yellow diversion sign here was telling me to turn left, so left is the way that I turned. I then turned left again soon afterwards to try and head in the vague direction of where I thought I should have been going. I didn't really know whether I was actually going in the vague direction of where I should have been going, but about five minutes later I found myself at the closed road again. Still on the wrong side of the closure.
It actually took me nearly an hour in total to drive to somewhere about five miles away from my home. The sooner those boffins in their laboratories invent teleportation so we can avoid all of this driving nonsense, the better.
My favourite part of today's Deal or No Deal: when Noel didn't want to do a quickie round but when that quickie round actually turned out to be utterly spectacular. My least favourite part of today's Deal or No Deal: the fact that Mr Banker man forgot two of the previous four players who have had similar rounds. Anyway, Caerwyn won a very nice £23,000 too.
