Because it's a school day and this one is dirtier than the last, I've placed today's "album cover nipple penetration" polls under a cut. You're welcome.

St. Vincent has that totally dewy skin-model/Whole Foods geek girl cashier thing going on in person.

I don't think I even ever registered that the PJ Harvey cover was partially nude. I've listened to it HUNDREDS of times. And too, I remembered the Suede s/t album having nudity, and it totally doesn't, it's two women kissing/implied nudity.

Sadly Surfer Rosa falls outside your timeframe.

Surfer Rosa somehow didn't even occur to me, which is weird because I have a poster of it in my living room. It's moved to about seven different houses with me, and still bears the wine stains of the drunken roomie who later sold me the crappy orange couch. I guess I'm just so used to it that its boobs have become white noise to me now.

It seems extra naked to me, because my copy has always had the cover folded under. In explanation, when I was in high school, I found an original 4AD cassette copy in a mall in Albuquerque, NM. In order to carry it to hs and back every day on the d/l I folded under the cover ( ... )

I've had "Exile In Guyville" for at least ten years and I never noticed the nipple until I was Google-hunting for contenders. And nipples don't usually get past me.

I only know because I heard some interview when the album originally came out. For sure it's emotionally naked. For sure that album caused me to get with the guy I was with before I got married. It's one of my favorite angry chick records of all time. Along with the demo/4 track version of Dry.

Also for album covers with nipples, Milla Jovovich put out an album as 'Milla' called 'The Divine Comedy' It actually IS from the mid 90s. It's not half bad, and is probably better than the Scarlett Johannsen Tom Waits album (which doesn't feature nudity). And naked Milla. Sort of.
