Day 20. A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Day 21. A song that you listen to when you’re happy
Day 22. A song that you listen to when you’re sad
This post will just be one major cop-out.
While songs can easily influence my mood, I have never noticed how my mood influences my choice in music. For instance, when I am angry, I do not listen to music at all. Anger is rare and flares up in short bursts, so any music playing at the same time would be merely coincidental.
Coincidentally, a YouTube search for "merely coincidental" brings up While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles. Not helping.
And when I am sad? One might think I'd put on my beloved Smiths albums and be all goth and stuff. (
johhnx , I can hear your heretic Morrissey-hating thoughts from here!) Truth be told though, I mostly keep myself randomly occupied in order not to wallow. Which I otherwise would. Okay, admission time: which I do. Sometimes.
By the way: In the age of mp3 and flac files, as the CD is dying a slow death and vinyl has been banished to the domain of oldschool DJs and music nerds, does one even put on music anymore? Native speakers, any help would be appreciated.
So what about happiness? What do I listen to? As one of the catchphrases from my recent vacation in California goes: All kinds of shit.
Well, that was enlightening.
For what it is worth: Here is a video of an angry frenchwoman singing a sad song that makes me happy.
