Yeah, the title says it all. I do this every break. I come home hoping to get a lot done and then keep thinking: I can do that tomorrow. Now for video games! Yes, I have been playing Final Fantasy almost every waking hour for the past few days, but luckily I was borrowing it so my provider pulled my supply and now I can work on other things.
What I should be doing instead of writing this post: writing my cover letter for the summer TA-ship thing. ... Does anyone know how to write a cover letter for one of these things, because I'm a little lost. I hate writing formal correspondence.
Anyway, like I said, I've been playing a lot of video games, spending a lot of time with Anna, reading, visiting people, and (when the mood strikes me) actually writing. Anna and I got to hang out for several hours yesterday, watched some Marx Brothers, and had a merry time. I'm trying not think about her leaving for a sememster, but it's always in the back of my mind. Kind of bites.
A few days ago I went back to Ames to visit friends, teachers and get some job references. It was really fun going back to the high school and talking to my old teachers; it was kind of an ego boost, actually, because they all seemed more proud of me than I had right to feel. Dianna and I visited Mr. Daddow and Mr. Webb and that was great fun, though Mr. Daddow seems even more stressed out this year. All in all, though, it was a great trip.
Went out for coffee with friends later that evening which was much fun. It was nice to sit around and hear all my friends bash the Y chromosome again (love you Dianna!) and I was glad to hear everyone was doing well. It's good to be with the old Ames group again.
Well, like I said, I should be working now. Hope everyone's break is going well so far. Only four days until Christmas!
