Well, home again in Des Moines... it's kind of weird to say that. I kind of miss Ames, actually, and I definitely miss Iowa City. I've only been home for a day and it already has me uneasy. Martha, you're just a stronger person; I don't like being away from people.
Anyway, listening to Christmasy music and bumming mostly. I went out with Anna and friend of hers last night, played Battlefront, made progress in typing up one of the stories I'm working on. I'm contemplating this summer TA program offered by John Hopkins University and trying to figure out a way of weaseling my way in. I would get payed $2100 for six weeks, free room and board and I would get to help teach kids how to write (sci fi and playwriting included, fuck yes!). Doubt I'll get it, but it's worth a shot.
Well, I'm giving in and making a professional profile. My creaive writing teacher told us we needed to make blogs to network with other writesr so I'll give it a shot. I therefore probably shouldn't friend you with it, but here it is if you want to take a look: jacks_daydream.
I do love the holidays, but it hasn't felt very festive this year. I think it's just because there's no snow, but I would really like it if I could get into the christmas spirit. It's kind of blech day, I suppose. I need to go do something productive.
Hope there are parties happening soon in Ames. We all must get together, savvy?
