SECOND HALF: FUGITIVE LOVEBIRDS

A sound of the electric shocker completed his mission to shut down all the guard on that big oak door. Looking at the amount of guards, he is sure that this is the hall to her chamber. He moves with a speed that he does not know he possessed before. He understood that he is racing against time, but he will not, correction: he cannot, leave her there. Not when he finally find her again.
Another memory, this time is painful one, flashing in his mind.
They supposed to meet each other at the park by 15.00 sharp. Knowing her, she should be there on time. But she was never come. He waited until sunset then walked home in panic. Living with dangers every day himself, especially after he joined his older brother’s secret agent team after Dong Hae lost one of his legs because of the fire behind enemy’s line, he knew that the world outside was not safe. Even for a smart and sleek girl like her.
He called her mobile again and again. When there was no answer, he slipped into Sooyoung’s navigator chair and used that machine to track the lost girl. But its result came out empty. Like she was vanished from the world.
He let out a frustrated cry, when his brother put his hand on his shoulder, “Who are you looking for, Kyu?” He shifted his eyes to his brother, who could see clearly the brink of tears in his eyes.”Seo Hyun. I could not find her, Hyung. I don’t even have the chance to tell her how much she meant to me.”
His brother pulled him in his arms, soothing the miserable young man that he loved more than his own live. “We’ll never stop our effort to find her, Kyu. I promised that.” Kyu nodded, knowing that his brother was serious, as he was also lost his love, Im Yoona, a raising actress, on a mission that gone wrong a year before.
He shakes his head, trying to move from that painful scene. He opens that big oak door slowly, worry that there may be some guards waiting behind the door.

The faint sound of the door being opened snaps Seo Hyun back to reality. She was going through her late father’s notes for a possible way out from the mansion. Her instinct warns her that someone must be inside the chamber with her. And she knows that the person must not be a guard or a maid because they will punch the intercom first to ask permission to come in. She had made a deal with her cousin that she will have full authority on who is allowed to be in her chambers.
So she walks to her bed post to open the drawer and pull her gun out, when someone grab her by the waist while putting his other hand in her mouth. She lets out a shriek and fights back, until she hears a familiar voice, “Shhhhh, Hyunnie. This is me. Don’t scream or they will take me away.” Oppa? Is that really you? Am I dreaming now? He turns her body to face her attacker. Then her gaze met his concern eyes. And her eyes are instantly wet. He’s here. He’s really here.
Kyu Hyun’s eyes are wet too. He moves his hand to her cheek, then slowly but surely caress it with his thumb. Then her composure finally broken down. She throw herself into his arms, sobbing quietly while whispers his name again and again. He pulls her tighter and inhales her hair. She’s here. She’s alive. Oh God, Thanks.

The sound of the clock wakes him up from his trance. He remembers his hyung. He has to move. He cannot break his promise to him. So he shakes her softly. “Hyunnie, we need to move soon. Stay close to me okay? And promise me that you will do whatever I tell you.” She nods. As always, she trust him completely.
He is pulling her with him when she stops him and walks to her drawer again. “In case we need this.”, she pulls her gun. Kyu Hyun nods, understand now why she always be alerted. She is a girl who grow up in a triad anyway. “Just be careful. I can’t stand it if you get hurt.”
He put back his earphone. “Hyung, I find her. Guide us where to go.” He hears his brother’s sound of relief. And then he heard Sooyoung’s usual calm voice cracks, “Kyu, I have you two on the screen. Now follow my direction. Wookie-Oppa would be at the gate to clear the way for both of you.” He smiles. Sooyoung and he are similar at age. Both are the youngest in the team. They are close enough for her to pour her heart about her feeling toward Wookie. He is glad that they finally admitted to each other a week after his partner got into infirmary the day they lost Kibum.
“Are you ready?” He glance at Seo Hyun who is nodding. “Ready as you are, Oppa.” He extends his hand to Seo Hyun and they starts running.

They are almost reached the back door when they heard a sound of somebody pull out a gun. Kyu Hyun sneaks a small gadget to her hand and whispers, “I’ll distract the person but you must promise me that you keep running. You’ll see Wookie at the gate. You met him once, right? “ He can see the girl’s eyes are started to get teary and her grip is even more tighter. “Oppa, No!” “You promised me, Hyun.” He said that before impulsively kiss the side of her head, shoves her to the shadow and step himself up to the light.

“Isn’t this the famous Lee Kyu Hyun? The agent that could crack any firewall.” Kyu Hyun stares back to those icy eyes. “Hello Jung Yong Hwa. Finally I meet you in person.” Yong Hwa smirks, “How is your brother? Has he able to adjust with the wheel chair?’ Kyu Hyun’s teeth clicked when he tries to keep his composure. “ He is never better.” Yong Hwa let out a laugh. “Really? You’ve got a gut, Little Lee. “Oppa, put down your gun.” Kyu Hyun opens his eyes and sees Seo Hyun stands in front of him with her gun directed to Yong Hwa. “Seo Hyun, put that down.” “No. YOU PUT THAT DOWN.” Kyu Hyun never hears her voice that cold before. “Hyunnie, I told you to leave!” Kyu Hyun hears his own voice cracks. “I promised you three years ago that I would always be your side kick, remember Oppa?” Her voice is cracking too “And today will not be the day I start to break that promise.”
Yong Hwa’s gaze is still locks with his cousin. His little sweet and only dongsaeng. They were each other’s best friends until his father died and he had to take over his triad. That’s when Seo Hyun, who is never fit in the triad live, started to distance herself from him. But beneath all of their differences, the two are still each other’s only kind that close to a sibling.
“Oppa, put that down. You know what I capable of.” “You won’t dare. You‘re good but you never able to pull that gun to another being.” Her gaze turns sad. “I will if that relate with Kyu Hyun Oppa.” And Yong Hwa know that he lost. Even if he shoot Kyu Hyun, his dongsaeng would not forgive him. He may be a triad leader and Kyu Hyun is a secret agent who is tasked to bring him down, but he is always a brother first and foremost.
Yong Hwa put down his gun. Kyu Hyun let out a long breath. Seo Hyun walks towards her cousin slash brother , take his gun off him, and throw that to Kyu Hyun who catch it and keep it save at his backpack. Seo Hyun closes their gap and kisses Yong Hwa’s cheek softly, “Good bye Oppa. Thank you. I always love you.”
Kyu Hyun extends his hand to Seo Hyun who take it without turning her gaze from her brother. Half because she sad, half because she is afraid he would cheat. Kyu Hyun nods at Yong Hwa, “I’ll take good care of her. Even if I have to put my life on the line because of it.” Yong Hwa nods back. Apprehension downed to both of the men as if the guardian role of Seo Hyun has been transferred from Yong Hwa to Kyu Hyun at that time. “You better. I’ll hunt you down if you don’t."
“Goodbye Seohyunnie.” Yong Hwa turns his back on them and close his eyes until the sound of their steps gone completely. He open the door to the main hall and shouts, “No one here. Coast’s clear.”

Ryeo Wook’s mobile beeping. He takes it out and sees “Sooyoungie” flashing out. He chuckles before opening his mobile. “Oppa! What are you doing? Sleeping? They stop moving few minutes ago!” A familiar evil laughter is suddenly echoed in his ears. “Sorry Youngie. We were halted by small trouble. But we’re here now.” A tap on his shoulder confirms the statement. Wookie smiles to his partner, “Yeah Youngie, they’re here. See you in a bit!” He closes his mobile and notice a young girl who standing very close to Kyu Hyun. “Hi Seo Hyun, still remember me, right?’ She nods shyly. “Yes Oppa.” He noticed that his maknae’s evil grin is coming back. Yeah, he’s right. This was worth to try.
Wookie lead them to the woods where Han-Kyung and Siwon and the rest of the gang are waiting for them. Kyu Hyun pull out the chip and give that to Han Kyung while Wookie stays with Seo Hyun a few step back. “Hyung, Can you tell Hae Hyung that I will see him in a month from now?” Han Kyung raised his eyebrows, “I thought you will go with Wookie in his car to the headquarters.” Kyu Hyun shakes his head. “We will meet Sooyoung in the town. She will bring my car. Seo Hyun and I will take a road trip for a month. She needs time to heal her heart and I need holiday anyway.” Han Kyung laughs. “It’s hard to be the leader’s younger brother, right?” Kyu Hyun smirks. “Take care Kyu. Good job!”
He salutes the rest of team. When the helicopter pull out, Siwon shouts, “Kyu, you right, she’s a hottie!” and he laughs out loud. Kyu Hyun’s cheeks turns red while he steals a glance at Seo Hyun. “hmmm, Hyunnie....” She laughs and wraps her arms around his. “It’s ok Oppa. I already know that you’ve been checking me out all this time.” “You do?” “I do, you’re too obvious, Oppa.” Kyu Hyun stops walking and pulls her closer, “Obvious, huh?” She giggled. “Yes.” His eyes glints, “I show you what is obvious.”
And then without warning, he tilts his head and press his lips on her. Her arms instantly move to his neck while his hands pulls her even tighter. He slips his tongue between her lips, silently asking permission to enter her mouth. She lets out a moan and open her mouth. He lightly bites the lower lips before shove his tongue inside, probing her sweet mouth.
They are totally engrossed on their heated kiss and forget everything else. Until they heard Wookie coughs, “Guys, I know you have a year to catch, but can you do that after we split up?”
