My Health

Gee wiz. This is pathetic. People do this when they're like 80 and have nothing to talk about besides going to the doctor's which is the only time they ever get out of the house. Anyhow, so that I can just write it and not have to tell everyone all over again everytime here goes. Oh, and depending on how updated you are on the whole situation you might already know some of this stuff.

July: "allergies" in Utah and then in Nauvoo (Il). Get back to Texas and they're still not gone. Hmm. Maybe I should go see a doctor.

August: The doctor puts me first on a Z-pak which is suppossed to be the best thing ever. It's not. Barely does anything. Doctor then puts me on amoxicillin, works kinda, puts me on another dose that's bigger and lasts longer.

Come to school. Still not gone completely. Go to Student Health Center. They say CT scan. So, I go get a CT scan. I thought it was fun, the little machine moves you up and down and in and out. What can I say, I'm easliy amused. Anyhow, results come back that it's normal.

September: Go see doctor at the Student Health Center again. Now I see the Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor who is only there once a week. By the way, in case you couldn't tell, me and the Student Health Center are like this [ ]. We're so tight. They know that they have to call me in the morning otherwise I won't be here. How sad is that?!? Anyhow... so the ENT doctor puts me on a drug called peroxisome which is basically cortisone. For you people who don't know what that is it's the stuff that they use as meat tenderizer. So, it basically turns your bones to mush. Side effects, retention of water (ie. weight gain, just what I need) and insomnia among other things. So, they can only give me a weeks worth at a time which means more trips to my favorite place-- the Student Health Center! So, I take that for the full week. It helps but doesn't get rid of it completely. Week after I finish, I'm dying again. Coughing, feverish, yucky, bad. So I go in again today. The ENT's says "I don't know how your results on your CT scan came back normal." That's comforting. So, as of now I'm back on the prednisone and on another antibiotic. So, they still haven't found out what's wrong and if this doesn't work... yeah.

My favorite parts about the whole ordeal:
- having the nurses asking me what I'm studying -- um, nursing.
- I'm learning about antibiotics in Microbiology so I know exactly what they do.
- Now I have connections so if I want to work there later everyone will already know me. Excellent

The End.
