After doing everything in my meager power to AVOID packing at work for the past couple of weeks (mostly, doing inventory just to stay busy and occasionally have a chance to sit down, even if it is on cold-ass concrete), I got an offer to work in the office entering new merchandise on their web site. As in, sort of the same thing I was doing at the bookstore, minus the photography and mail orders.

Tenuously...pleased(?) for now, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. I can probably grind through the new stuff catalog in about a week, and then what? Back to packing? More inventory? NNNGHGHGHGGUUUGHGGH

Granted, new stuff is always circulating in and out, and closeouts need changed...I probably just want any excuse not to be sweaty, sore, dirty, injured (CARDBOARD IS SHARP, SHUT UP), and covered in box dust.

Also I feel like I should maybe try to dress a little nicer if I'm going to be working in the office. Not that I deal with customers, but a few of the ladies wear business casual every day, and one is always so...put together. (JEALOUSY; I possess no style/taste at all) Of course, most people are still just wearing jeans and t-shirts.

It is sad to me that this tiny "promotion" (ha ha raise? LOL. NO.) improved my mood so much. Carrot, horse on treadmill, etc etc.

Another good thing? Next paycheck will be the first normal-sized one (and maybe even a little bigger) since before Thanksgiving. No missed days, no unpaid holidays, just two weeks pay. And we both have paid vacation days as of the 29th. We'll more than likely be using some to go take care of the car. But hey, getting paid to NOT be at work.

For those who are tired of me writing about work, I am sorry and will probably be putting it behind a cut from now on. But I really don't do or think about anything EXCEPT work, video games, cooking terrible food, and occasionally some pen-and-paper gaming. I am un-fun.

Here is a picture of my boyfriend and his cat (and some craft supplies):
